Our animal hospital uses an in-house laboratory for pets in Boca Raton and the surrounding areas to fill the majority of our patients’ needs. This includes urinalysis to test for urinary tract, bladder or kidney functioning, fecal testing to screen for intestinal parasites and blood panels to check for specific diseases or ensure your pet’s general health for anesthesia. Each of these plays a vital role in your pet’s health.

Our clinic uses digital x-rays to take a closer look inside your pet. The veterinarian will discuss the problems with you and walk you through your diagnostic options. Please keep in mind that while many x-rays can be done with gentle hand restraint, sedation or anesthesia may be necessary for pets who are highly active or in situations where the veterinarian is concerned about the quality of the image.

An ultrasound exam is another non-invasive technique that allows us to view the internal organs of your pet using echoes of ultrasonic waves. Many people often think of it as being used to look at the progress of pregnancies, and while this can be true for pets there are many other uses for this diagnostic tool. It can use used in identifying heart conditions and finding cysts or tumors. In most cases, anesthesia is not required to perform an ultrasound exam.
